Twisted Xmas: Bush at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom

Watch the winter holidays will go up in festive flames amid the bustle of Uptown Chicago. Q101’s Twisted Xmas returns for its 30th annual installment at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom to give you the hottest music alternative rock has to offer. On December 13th, Bush will light the rafters with guest acts Bishop Briggs, Palaye Royale, and Mod Sun, blowing up the fourth and final night of this all-star event into the stratosphere.

Live through the ‘90s grunge boom all over again. British rock icon Gavin Rossdale and his American Music Award-winning band, Bush, punctuate Twisted Xmas 2024 with a visceral bang. Famed for putting an expressively stylish bent to the gritty post-Nirvana soundscape, the group kicked off their Billboard 200 dominance with multi-platinum albums Sixteen Stone (1994) and Razorblade Suitcase (1996). Plunge into Bush’s masterworks of Alternative Airplay chart-toppers, featuring the MTV VMA 1996 Viewer’s Choice, “Glycerine,” and the Grammy-nominated “Swallowed.” Other career highlights such as “Machinehead” and “The Chemicals Between Us” round off the set, which covers a nearly three-decade run-up to The Art of Survival (2022) LP.

Bush’s supporting stars expand the Friday night concert beyond the bounds of your average alt-rock show. Electropop hitmaker Bishop Briggs brings dark yet soulful melodies, from her double-platinum smash hit “River” to her latest EP’s “Baggage” standout single.

Las Vegas trio Palaye Royale, best-known for fan-faves “Lonely” and “Showbiz,” adds fashionably nostalgic art-rock to the ballroom’s air. And third, “hippie hop” artist Mod Sun and his pop-punk songs like “Flames” and “Karma” offer a touch of Californian swagger you can’t possibly resist.
