Chromeo & The Midnight at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom

Two masters of their own genre: Chromeo and The Midnight are going on an extreme trek in their co-headlining tour "Chrome Nights" with guest act Girl Ultra. Both Chromeo and The Midnight has a jam-packed schedule this fall, with 33 nights of performances in just over a month. Nights in North America will turn chrome for everyone above the age of 17. Everywhere they go will be a party zone as Chromeo celebrates the release of their new album, Adult Contemporary while The Midnight launches a comic book. Montreal-based electro-funk duo Chromeo, David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel, are not (yet!) in the big streaming league tables, with just over a million monthly listeners in Spotify. But after more than 20 years since their conception, the duo is finally going up in a steep trajectory with their newest album Adult Contemporary and upcoming World Tour. Funk enthusiasts' best kept secret knows how to bring their crowds alive, blending influences of Nile Rodgers and Daft Punk in their new material. Chant "Chromeo oh-oh" as you sway side to side with the crowd in their live rendition on "Words with You" and "Lonesome Nights."

Meanwhile, our second headliner, The Midnight is a synth-wave duo composed of producer Tim McEwan and singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle based from the City of Angels. The duo's relatively new, debuting in 2014, but have since appeared on Billboard charts and various television programs throughout their career, becoming one of the most commercially successful synthwave acts. At the heel of their graphic novel announcement and the release of their newest single, "Chariot," the duo is joining the trek, bringing their catchy sound to rouse everyone up in the audience.

Acclaimed Mexican indie artist Girl Ultra, will set a different note to open for our two main acts, offering a candid exploration of modern femininity and touches of indie-pop and R&B. But, like Chromeo and The Midnight, her energy is palpable especially in live performances, something that you'd expect from her new single, "rimel" which blends house rhythms and subtle acid undertones.
