Dashboard Confessional is cruising in with a big wave of nostalgia from our younger emo days. For their Fall Tour 2024, the band, along with guest acts Boys Like Girls and Taylor Acorn, is kicking off a 28-city trek making stops across the U.S., including Chicago. Scream to the abyss because singer-songwriter Christopher Carrabba of the Dashboard Confessional, THE poster boy for a generation of emo fans in the early 2000s is here to save your Saturday night. The band, which is named after a lyric in "The Sharp Hint of New Tears," rejuvenated the emo genre through the years. Now, their decades of earnest, timeless tracks will prove that emo is forever as they slug along their latest album All the Truth that I can Tell (2022) and hot tracks from their previous album that brings the sound of emo, alternative, indie, and acoustic together.

Each night boasts a different set list from the other but you can expect hard-hitting tracks to be loaded front and center in the event. Slip away to a stream of consciousness as they perform tracks like "Vindicated," a lead single from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, the softer ballad "Don't Wait," and turn-of-the-century tearjerker "Screaming Infidelities." You can also expect the top tracks, featuring their iconic introspective songwriting and passionate performances, from their critically acclaimed albums including The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most (2001), A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar (2003).

To add another kick to the heart are two guest artists: Boys Like Girls and Taylor Acorn. Pop-funk sensation Boys Like Girls has recently stepped back into the spotlight with their latest track "Blood and Sugar," a head-bobbing single that will most likely be featured in their performance. Fan-favorite tracks such as those that ranked in U.S. Top 40 such as "The Great Escape," "Love Drunk" and "Two is Better than One" will smoke up the stage to get you ready to jam.

Pop-punk powerhouse and Nashville-based Taylor Acorn will open the show. Fresh off her sold out headlining "Good Enough" Tour, she still has energy to squeeze off emotion from her audience with her powerful vocals. Vibe to her tracks in the likes of "Certified Depressant," "Greener" and "Survival in Motion."
